Summer University

Discover Europe with AEGEE's Summer University!

Haven't got plans yet for the summer, but would you like to experience Europe? Join one of the 130 AEGEE Summer Universities!

More than 2500 students from all over Europe pack their suitcase each year to join these Summer Universities in more than 30 European countries. Once arrived, there's (at least) a two week program organised by local students: from the history of Hungary to the culture of Spain, from walking in Rumania to dancing in Croatia, from watching the sunset to partying until the early morning, it's all possible!

These Summer Universities take place from June till September and they cost just around 160 euros. This includes two meals a day, a sleeping accommodation and an extensive program of activities. The program depends on the types of Summer University. There are four types of Summer Universities:

-         Language Course: You will learn the language of the country where you are staying.
For example: A Portuguese course in Porto, a boat trip on traditional Portuguese boats included.

-         Language Course Plus: This is an advanced and more intensive Language Course.
For example: Learning English in Glasgow, searching for the monster of Loch Ness and tasting whisky.

-         Summer Course: Discovering the culture of the city, region of country is the most important.
For example: Dancing course in Ankara and visiting a Turkish wedding.

-         Travel Summer University: You will travel between different cities, or even different between countries.
For example: A trip to different university cities of Former Yugoslavia.

You can find a list of all Summer Universities and more information at www.aegee.org/su. When you have made a choice, you need to undertake the following steps:

  1. Become a member of AEGEE-Nijmegen. You can fill in a applicationform here (http://www.aegee-nijmegen.nl/Lid-worden.10.0.html)
  2. You need to visit our office to fill in a form for withdrawal
  3. You have to register at www.aegee.org.
  4. Now you can apply for the Summer University you want to go to.
